About the Role

The Mammography Technologist performs mammography imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role involves operating mammography and other imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, maintaining high-quality imaging standards, and effectively communicating with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.

Responsibilities

  • Operate mammography and other imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images.
  • Recognize technical abnormalities in images and make necessary adjustments.
  • Follow and adjust protocols as needed for various advanced procedures.
  • Adhere to radiation safety procedures and machine emergency protocols.
  • Ensure safe and proper operation of imaging machines.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and follow complex instructions.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program with required clinical hours completed.
  • State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.
  • Obtained American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registry OR registry eligible (achieve registry within 6 months of eligibility).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • No prior experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient knowledge in producing diagnostic images.
  • Knowledge of a variety of advanced imaging procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
  • Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
