Mammography Technologist - PRN
Job Summary
Operates mammography equipment and performs various mammography-related examinations to produce radiograph images for clinical screening and diagnostic purposes. Ensures accurate body positioning and provides mammograms to women under direct supervision. Implements radiation safety standards and relevant policies into imaging practices. Processes and evaluates the technical quality of images. Delivers care and support services to clients before, during, and after mammogram procedures (e.g. explaining procedures, answering inquires, etc.). Possesses a positive attitude, compassion, and an acceptance of diversity. Maintains records and updates history associated with mammography. Educates women the importance of mammography in preventing breast cancer. Demonstrates knowledge and an understanding of anatomy, pathology, physiology, and medical terminology. Maintains continuing education credits as necessary.
Qualifications
- Completion of an educational program accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) is required.
- A thorough understanding of mammography techniques and procedures is preferred.
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
- Certified or obtain ARRT certification in Mammography within one year of hire.
