Mammography Technologist PRN
Job Summary
The Mammography Technologist at Menorah Medical Center performs mammographic procedures by applying proper ionizing radiation, accurate positioning, compression, and processing techniques to obtain high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by Radiologists.
What you will do in this role
- Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
- Explain procedure and educate patients about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health.
- Develop and evaluate the film for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, and distortion.
- Absorb and assist the Radiologist with procedures as needed.
- Turn over and prepare room using aseptic technique between patients and clean / sterilize equipment.
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an accredited program by the Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP), American Medical Association (AMA) or other accrediting agency.
- Adhere to ARRT guidelines of obtaining 24 continuing education credits every 2 years.
- Current licensure/certification/registry in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and current certification in Mammography or certification eligible required and obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Must hold a current license from the Kansas Board of Healing Arts.
- American Heart Association BLS Certification required on hire.
- Minimum of 1-2 years work related experience in Mammography required.
