Mammography Technologist- PRN
This is a day shift PRN Mammography Technologist position at IU Health Arnett Medical Offices in West Lafayette. Working hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, requiring a minimum commitment of 8 hours per month with shifts up to 10 hours.
About the role
Performs quality diagnostic and screening mammographic studies utilizing a knowledge of anatomic positions. Ensures patient safety and comfort during procedures by explaining the process, positioning patients correctly, and adjusting equipment as needed. Reviews prior imaging to attain and/or improve tissue visualization as compared to prior studies. Complies with FDA MQSA Regulations. Assists with mammographs, ultrasound, and MR guided breast localizations and biopsies. May perform screening breast ultrasound procedures as required by local facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and screening mammographic studies

- Comply with FDA MQSA Regulations
- Assist with mammographs, ultrasound, and MR guided breast localizations and biopsies
- Perform screening breast ultrasound procedures as required
- Maneuver equipment and improvise positions when needed
Requirements
- 0-3 years of relevant experience
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Certification in Mammography (M) through the ARRT within 12 months of hire
- If performing breast ultrasound, must obtain credential through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS): RDMS(BR); American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT): RT(S)(BS), or RT(R)(M)(BS); within 18 months of hire
- Current license through Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) as a Radiologic Technologist
- Meets Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) requirements (preferred)
- Ability to learn breast ultrasound procedures, if applicable
