About the Team

Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services, and more.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily clinical and administrative operations of the mammography department.
• Assist in delivering personalized, professional, and quality patient care.
• Provide internal and external customer service.
• Perform all Mammography examinations, including transportation of patients to and from Imaging Services.
• Prepare and maintain all departmental paperwork.
• Answer department telephone, schedule patients, and manage patient information using Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) and Hospital Information System (HIS).
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Explain Mammography procedures to patients and/or family members thoroughly and professionally.
• Perform Mammography procedures using appropriate imaging parameters (MAS, KVP, positioning, etc.) to provide physicians with quality diagnostic images.
• Provide education to new and existing clinical team members as needed.
• Manage clinical team members daily, ensuring compliance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
• Perform quality control on equipment to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Notify management immediately of any potential malfunction or hazard of equipment.
• Maintain all documentation supporting the quality control program and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as a point of contact for physician offices requiring clinical information and respond to requests within 24 hours.
• Maintain open communication with the dictating radiologist to ensure department images are constantly evaluated and improved.
• Order supplies for the division to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
• Prepare and verify accuracy of department paperwork.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited program of Radiologic Technology.
• 2+ years of experience as a mammography technologist.
• Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a General Medical Radiologic Technologist (GMRT).
• Registered radiologic technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography (R) and Mammography (M).
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
