Responsibilities

  • Produces mammography images per departmental protocol.
  • Able to verify all orders and make appropriate communications and changes as necessary per department protocols and standard of work.
  • Follows customer service protocols with internal/external staffs, greets, and prepares correctly identified patients for examinations.
  • Verifies correct exam and provider information with the patient and makes the appropriate communications, as necessary.
  • Explains specific procedures to be performed in appropriate confidential areas.
  • Performs screening or diagnostic mammography exams using excellent positioning and exposure techniques and examines completed images for technical quality.
  • Accurately maintains patient's imaging records utilizing the radiology information systems, EPIC/Radiant (EMR/RIS), and PACS/Synapse application in accordance with HIPAA, and established SMA guidelines, Policies, and procedures as necessary and appropriate for their work.
  • Makes communication to appropriate persons, as necessary.
  • Ensures correct processing of images utilizing the mammography equipment and examines images for technical quality, diagnostic acceptability following the department Quality Assurance guidelines and Technologist Quality guidelines.
  • Calls for service as necessary and makes appropriate communication.
  • Maintains work area in a neat/clean order.
  • Aids and maintains supply par level/and maintains storage areas.
  • Follows all safety standards and work practices in the workplace. Uses radiation safety and practices when operating radiologic equipment that emits radiation.
  • Maintains attendance with work schedules. May also be assigned to other modalities provided incumbent is trained passing department competencies, certified, or licensed in those modalities.
  • May also be assigned to other sites, shifts, and dates based on operational needs.
  • Complies with annual mandatory Fit testing, TB testing as a job requirement. Maintain mandatory web courses as assigned.
  • Maintains licensures and certificates.
  • Participates in meetings/huddles with attendance and discussion.

Requirements

  • High School diploma and/or equivalent.
  • Graduated from an accredited school of Radiology Technology or currently attending in good standing.
  • Current ARRT® and Nevada State Mammography and Radiography license.
  • ARRT (M) certification in Mammography required within one (1) year of hire date.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Consideration Exposure to radiation, risk of exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.
  • Rotates within Mammography department to include various shifts, other site locations, and have reliable transportation is required.
  • May rotate within Imaging Services Department.
  • Flexible to work overtime and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of state and federal imaging guidelines pertaining to specialties.
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment, testing and safety hazards related to radiology required as well as having knowledge of radiology positioning, procedures, diagnosis, and quality assurance.
  • Skilled in properly positioning patients to provide quality imaging.
  • Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate technical procedures and results with patients and providers.
  • Proven excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to perform imaging exams as applicable to license(s).

Pay

The hourly pay for this role will range from $29 - $52 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
