About the role

The Supervisor of Breast Imaging supervises, plans, organizes, and improves work processes in Breast Imaging. This position handles department orientation, teaches, coaches, supervises staff, and performs imaging exams in Mammography, Bone Density, MRI, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine. The Supervisor also acts as a department liaison when the manager is absent.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees imaging services delivery and quality, focusing on turnaround times, exam quality, and patient preparation.
  • Ensures compliance with System and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs procedures when needed due to workload or complexity.
  • Schedules, monitors, evaluates, and modifies staffing patterns to provide services in assigned areas.
  • Interviews, counsels, and completes performance evaluations.
  • Trains new staff and ensures all registrations and certifications are current.
  • Keeps them on file and up to date.
  • Promotes a culture of service excellence in imaging sections.
  • Participates in shared governance, department, hospital, or professional organizations and committees.

Requirements

  • Required Certifications: ARRT - M, BLS
  • Required Experience: 3 years of experience as a Mammography Tech; Supervisor experience or 2 years as Lead Tech preferred

Qualifications

  • General computer skills including Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
  • Able to take call, if required.

  • Able to make tactical judgments on allocating and directing supervised employees' work using established guidelines, policies, or procedures.
  • Able to make effective hiring and termination recommendations.
  • Able to train and evaluate performance of supervised staff.

Schedule

Monday – Friday 8a-5p (hours may vary based on unit needs); Saturdays will occasionally be required.
