Mammogram Technologist, Breast Care Center

About the role

To provide mammographic images of the highest technical quality with minimal supervision in a timely manner to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease in patients.

Responsibilities

• Review x-ray requests, physician orders or patients chart to assure that correct procedures are requested
• Introduce themselves to patient
• Document patient history
• Explain and answer questions about mammogram procedures
• Ensure diagnostic excellence
• Practice radiation safety measures to prevent injury to patient
• Secure and maintain supplies with care to help control cost and avoid delays

Requirements

• High school or its equivalent
• Satisfactorily completed a Radiologic Technologist training in an approved school
• Registered by ARRT
• Desirable to have obtained certification in mammography or at least 1 year training or experience specifically in mammography
• Serve patient population categories of infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
