About the role

The Maintenance Assistant supports the delivery of high-quality move-ins, residential satisfaction, expedited service, and personal attention to residents. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring Cushman and Wakefield provides superior customer service to its residents.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares market-ready apartments, including painting, carpet repairs, cleaning, general repairs, and housekeeping duties.
  • Responds to resident requests promptly and professionally.
  • Knowledgeable in maintenance functions such as plumbing, HVAC, basic electric, carpentry, painting, and snow removal (if applicable).
  • Maintains grounds, pools/hot tubs, common areas, and dog park amenities to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and safety.
  • Reports maintenance concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Schedules and performs maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Adheres to state, local, and federal fair housing laws.
  • Attends and participates in training programs as required by Cushman & Wakefield.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Delivers superior customer service and maintains a professional demeanor.
  • Maintains and safeguards company tools and equipment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, Trade, Technical, or Vocational school education.
  • EPA 608 – Minimum Type II, or CPO, or local city required certificate.
  • Valid Driver's license.

Competencies

  • Reads policy manuals, safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Writes routine reports and correspondence.
  • Utilizes common sense to understand and follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
  • Deals with problems involving multiple variables in situations of a routine nature.
  • Computes rate, ratio, and percent and prepares and interprets bar graphs.
  • Adds, subtracts, multiplies, divides, measures using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Fulfills safety policies and procedures.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. It requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The role involves regular travel between properties in various weather conditions.

Physical Demands

  • Remain in a stationary position (sit or stand) for 85% of the time.
  • Regularly use hands to operate office machinery.
  • Regularly walk, talk, and hear.
  • Lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds constantly.
