Major Gift Officer
Job Summary
The Foundations of Kaleida Health, including The Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation and The Kaleida Health Foundation, seek a Major Gift Officer to join their fundraising team. This role involves building and executing major gifts annual fundraising goals, engaging and cultivating donors, and discovering and qualifying new prospects.
About the Role
The Major Gift Officer will collaborate with the development team to expand philanthropic support from individuals, focusing on leadership and major giving donors and prospects. They will work closely with Foundation leadership to create individual engagement and solicitation strategies.
Responsibilities
- Identify, engage, solicit, cultivate, and steward current and prospective donors' leadership and major giving donors and prospects
- Create individual engagement and solicitation strategies to increase philanthropic support from individuals
- Work closely with Foundation leadership to develop strategies for moving leadership donors into major giving opportunities
- Discover and qualify new prospects
- Manage projects and volunteers effectively
- Use computers and database programs proficiently, preferably with Raiser's Edge and fundraising software or sales CRM
- Handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- 3 to 5 years of experience in sales or front-line fundraising
- Proven success in relationship building and portfolio management
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proficiency in using computers and database programs
- Prefer experience with Raiser's Edge and fundraising software or sales CRM
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion

Benefits
The position offers a competitive salary range of $61,756.50 - $84,922.50, commensurate with experience. The company is committed to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.
