Maintencance Assistant

About the Role

White Blossom Care Center, a premier skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in San Jose, CA, is seeking a reliable, hardworking Maintenance Assistant to join our dedicated team. The Maintenance Assistant helps maintain the physical plant and grounds of the facility, ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance checks on building systems and equipment.
• Maintain facility grounds, ensuring walkways are clear, safe, and clean.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents.
• Help move furniture, equipment, and supplies as required.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, fire codes, and facility policies.
• Assist with waste disposal and keep maintenance storage areas organized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in building maintenance, handiwork, or a related trade is highly desirable.
• Basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing, painting, and carpentry tools.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, resident-centered mindset.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Pay

Pay Range: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
