Maintenance Worker (Part-Time)

About the role

The Bridgeport Port Jefferson Ferry is seeking a Part-Time Maintenance Worker (Weekends - 8 Hour Days) to join our team. The Maintenance Worker in Bridgeport, CT reports to the Operations Manager. The Maintenance Worker in Port Jefferson, NY reports to the HR / Claims Manager.

Responsibilities

• Maintain building upkeep and cleanliness
• Service, clean, and supply restroom(s)
• Gather and empty trash
• Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
• Notify manager concerning the need for major repairs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and day/evening shifts as necessary

Physical Requirements

• Considerable stooping, bending, climbing, and working in tight spaces
• Handling materials or chemicals needed for maintenance and repairs
• Ability to properly wear personal protective equipment
