About the role
This is a full-time position with the Saratoga Springs Public Works Department of approximately 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Performs skilled work pertaining to landscape maintenance and maintenance of Saratoga Springs City parks, streetscapes, park facilities, and other City of Saratoga Springs property.
- Functions as one of the City's principal "on-call" employees for after-hour emergencies related to area of responsibility and for snow plowing.
- Acts as a lead worker for assigned Seasonal Maintenance - Parks employees, providing on-site directions to complete tasks and projects.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid New York State Driver’s License.
- Two years of experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or similar field.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as mowers, tractors, and dump trucks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
