About the role

NPC is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining buildings, grounds, equipment, and related systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize safety at all times and promote safe work practices throughout the facility
  • Perform general maintenance and repair work on facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, masonry, and glazing tasks
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on locks, cabinets, closets, desks, and other fixtures
  • Auxiliary tasks include assisting with moving, transporting, and setting up furniture and equipment, activating and deactivating building alarm systems, and responding to alarm calls during and after regular business hours
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and associated costs
  • Clean, lubricate, and service machine components such as bearings, gears, shafts, and other moving parts
  • Maintain and inspect equipment to diagnose mechanical issues and determine appropriate repairs
  • Order and maintain inventory of parts, supplies, and equipment as needed
  • Adjust, calibrate, and maintain equipment using appropriate tools and measuring instruments
  • Install, align, and balance new equipment to ensure proper operation
  • Inspect and evaluate worn or damaged parts to determine repair or replacement needs
  • Assemble, install, and repair electrical systems, wiring, plumbing systems, machinery, and related equipment
  • Perform general cleaning and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and work areas

  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn new skills and follow established procedures and direction

Qualifications

  • Pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening

Skills

  • Inspection of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure safe operation
  • Safely and effectively using a variety of hand and power tools
  • Operating equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts
  • Following written and verbal instructions accurately
  • Communicating clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • Building and maintaining positive working relationships with coworkers, vendors, and customers
  • Demonstrating flexibility, including the ability to be on-call and work weekends or after-hours when required
