Job Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and maintenance of structures, electrical systems, plumbing, washers and dryers, heating and ventilation and air conditioning systems in compliance with ACA standards, MTC, FDOC, and DMS directives.
- Recommend contracted assistance when on-site repair is not possible.
- Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, outlets, and fuses as directed.
- Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.
- Install window shades or coverings, security locks, etc.
- Perform repair or replacement of plumbing, fixtures, washers, seals, etc.
- Help prepare surfaces for finishing, i.e. painting as directed.
- Direct inmates assigned to department.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical training and two (2) years related experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency required.
- Valid driver’s license in the state of Florida with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
Qualifications
Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements.
Pay
$19.37/hr.
