About the role
Join DISMAS and work for one of the nation's largest not-for-profit provider's specializing in community-based adult re-entry programs. Dismas Charities provides quality, cost-effective community-based residential and non-residential supervision and treatment services.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and Repairs: Painting; building, repairing, and/or installing counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, etc.; installing glass; replacing damaged ceiling tile, floor tile, and wall coverings; installing items such as window shades, blinds, curtain rods, wall fans, and door locks.
- If licensed, also includes electrical and mechanical system upkeeps and repairs.
- Conducts Regular Landscaping Details and Maintenance of Grounds: Mowing, trimming, raking, upkeep of lawn sprinklers, trees, flowers, shrubs, etc.
- Conducts Regular Preventive Maintenance: Ensures safety, operation, or aesthetics of facilities; notifies supervisor or Director of repairs needing additional attention; maintains records of required routine maintenance.
- Maintains Working Knowledge of all Procedures and Policies: Physical Plant Manual and Chapters 3-8 of the facilities Operations Manual; Emergency Drills, Life Safety, Facility Sanitation, and Unusual Occurrence Procedures.
- Works Required Shifts and Hours; Attends and participates in required appointments/meetings on-site, within the community, in the court system, or at other business-related locations.
Qualifications

- Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least two years of paid general maintenance experience, is preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
