Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Exposed to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environments such as high noise level, strong odors, and/or exposure to heat and cold.
• Exposed to bio hazardous conditions.
• Exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations.
• Exposed to Electrical hazards; risk of electrical shock.
• Handles or works with potentially dangerous equipment.
• Travels to offsite locations.

Minimum Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Experience in operating a forklift.
• Basic knowledge of general maintenance and equipment operations.
• General mechanical aptitude; possess basic 480 electric skills.
• Good math skills; add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Preferred Qualifications

• Vocational school training preferred.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Completes preventive maintenance program independently as assigned.
• Assists other maintenance personnel on special fabrication or construction projects; may perform corrective maintenance on plant and equipment.
• Cleans and oils plant equipment daily.
• Replaces equipment parts with little or no direction; gearbox rebuild, piping skills, replace packing, rebuild pumps.
• Uses cutting torch, welding mild steel with stick welder, fabrication, and hydraulic repairs.
• Rewire motors and perform basic electrical work.
• Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area at all times.
• Uses assigned personal protective equipment and required safety equipment; follows all Company safety rules and regulations.
• Attends regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
