About the role
This position serves as a technical specialist responsible for performing advanced preventative maintenance, installations, and repairs across various building, utility/support, and Life Safety systems.
Major Responsibilities
- Performs preventive maintenance and technical repairs on complex facility systems.
- Diagnoses and implements complex repairs for multiple Utility System, Infrastructure, and Life Safety Systems.
- Installs/replace and maintains building, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and controls systems.
- Operates, monitors, and maintains advanced utility equipment (generators, plant chillers, steam boilers, fire protection systems, etc.) and provides oversight of building automation systems to maintain and improve system efficiencies.
- Maintains vacuum, compressed air, and medical gas systems.
- Reads and updates blueprints, Life Safety drawings, and manuals for accurate task completion.
- Interfaces with vendors, contractors, and construction vendors to ensure safe utility interfacing and tie-in.
- Coordinates, schedules, and ensures required testing, calibrations, and maintenance records are provided and maintained.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Industry recognized certification/license requiring Continuing Education Units or periodic renewal to maintain.
- Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of technical training.
- 5 or more Years of Experience in relatable industrial/trades maintenance or operations.
Qualifications
- Clear written and verbal communication skills required.
- Advanced computer skills/competency required in using and operating systems such as Microsoft Office Platform, Building Automation Systems, Pneumatic Tube Systems.
- Clear understanding of applicable compliance codes and guidelines.
- Clear understanding of multiple trades and systems and how they interconnect and support the location.
Skills
- Ability to work with minimal oversight with advanced technical skills in facility maintenance.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Works required shifts and participates in on-call duty to provide 24/7 coverage.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, crawl, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. from floor to overhead, lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest-level, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
- Must be able to push/pull with 50 lbs. of force.
- Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards and therefore knowledge of safety precautions.
- Position requires travel. May be exposed to road/weather hazards.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
