MAINTENANCE Tooling Technician

Position Summary

RESRG is seeking a skilled and motivated Tooling Technician to support manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production tooling and equipment. The Tooling Technician plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production within an automotive manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of molds, dies, fixtures, jigs, and production tooling.
  • Diagnose tooling issues and make necessary adjustments to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
  • Assist with tool changeovers, setup verification, and startup activities.
  • Inspect tooling components for wear, damage, and performance issues.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and tooling specifications.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
  • Perform machining, grinding, polishing, welding, and fabrication tasks as required.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Recommend tooling improvements to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required documentation.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental requirements.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in work areas.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in tooling, maintenance, or automotive manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting molds, dies, fixtures, or related production equipment.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical degree or certification in Tool & Die, Industrial Maintenance, Machining, or a related field.
  • Experience with injection molding, stamping, assembly, or automotive production processes.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and varying shifts as needed.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work Environment

The Tooling Technician works in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment, noise, heat, and industrial chemicals. Proper use of personal protective equipment is required at all times.
