Maintenance Technician Location: Indianapolis, IN Job Type: Full-Time About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a temperature-controlled/cold-chain facility supporting critical operations in the healthcare and logistics industry. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in industrial maintenance, automation, PLC troubleshooting, electrical/mechanical systems, and refrigerated or temperature-controlled facilities. You will work closely with Operations to troubleshoot equipment, minimize downtime, support automation upgrades, and maintain reliable production and facility systems. Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated manufacturing and material-handling equipment.Perform hands-on troubleshooting of PLCs, conveyors, robotics, machinery, and electrical/mechanical systems.Support installation, integration, relocation, and upgrades of automation and manufacturing equipment.Troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLC systems and work with controls/equipment suppliers to resolve issues.Perform preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility systems.Repair or replace defective mechanical and electrical components using hand and power tools.Support maintenance of refrigeration, HVAC, chillers, freezers, and temperature-controlled systems.Respond quickly to production equipment failures and help minimize downtime.Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.Coordinate with outside service providers for HVAC, safety, cleaning, and other facility-related services.Maintain accurate maintenance, work-order, repair, and parts records.Follow all company safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.Support equipment installation and relocation projects.Follow all applicable Environmental Health & Safety requirements.Operate a forklift when required.Required Qualifications5-7+ years of industrial maintenance and/or automation experience.Experience troubleshooting Allen-Bradley PLCs.Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.Experience with industrial machinery, automation, conveyors, or material-handling systems.Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance.Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.Working knowledge of hand tools and power tools.Basic computer skills for work orders, maintenance records, and parts management.Ability to work in a cold-storage/temperature-controlled environment.Ability and willingness to operate a stand-up or sit-down forklift.Ability to work occasional second-shift/weekend service calls.Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.Preferred ExperienceCold storage or refrigerated warehouse experience.Industrial refrigeration, HVAC, chiller, or freezer experience.Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus.Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, food processing, logistics, or other temperature-controlled environments.Experience with Rockwell Automation, Studio 5000, RSLogix, ControlLogix, or CompactLogix.Experience with robotics and automated conveyor systems.Benefits include:Medical, Vision & Dental Insurance401(k) with Employer ContributionsLife & AD&D InsuranceHSA and FSAAccident InsuranceCritical Illness InsuranceHospital Indemnity InsurancePaid Time Off (PTO)10 Paid HolidaysWhy Consider This Opportunity?
