About the role
Summer Fresh Salads is a leading manufacturer of hummus, dips, and salads in Canada. We currently have an opening for a Maintenance Technicians – Electrical. The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented individual with a strong, self-directed work ethic. In a busy work environment, the ability to juggle multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines is a necessity. This position will be located in our Woodbridge facilities.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, assemble, install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain (including programming, calibration and preventive/predictive maintenance) electrical fixtures, apparatus, control equipment and wiring for industrial electrical systems, as well as equipment and systems such as motors, generators, distribution equipment systems, wiring systems, lighting systems, motor drives, stand-by power systems, instrumentation, communication, security, renewable energy and energy storage systems.
- Consult manufacturer's manuals, circuit diagrams and blueprints to determine tests and maintenance procedures for instruments used for measuring and controlling flow, level, pressure, temperature, and other variables in packaging and processing.
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machine and the plant facility equipment.
- Plan installations from blueprints, sketches and specifications and installs all electrical and electronic devices systematically.
- Diagnose faults in electrical and electronic systems and equipment and repairs or replaces electrical and electronic components as required.
- Measure, cut, thread, bend, assemble and install conduits and other electrical conductor raceways; splice and terminate electrical conductors.
- Test electrical and electronic equipment for proper function.
- Repair and adjust system components, such as sensors, transmitters and programmable logic controllers, or remove and replace defective parts.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform electrical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Manage all work orders assigned and make sure that at least 80% of the daily working hours are covered by hours allocated to work orders.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Comply with food safety requirements when working in production area.
- Consult with and advise operators.
Qualifications
- Professional Certifications – Licensed Industrial Electrician with competitive skills in Electro-Mechanical Engineering technology, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline on PLC and Industrial Automation.
- Minimum of 3 years' previous related experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office related applications, i.e. Excel, Outlook is required.
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems and food manufacturing equipment.
- Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Pay & Schedule
- These are permanent full-time (Shift) positions.
- Shifts are 12 hours (day) and/or 12 hours (night).
