Maintenance Technician/Welder

About the Role

Marquis Energy LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Welder to support operations in Hennepin, Illinois. This role involves troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on a wide range of equipment to ensure production and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all company safety procedures and participate in regular Environmental, Health, and Safety training.
• Respond rapidly to equipment issues negatively impacting production and/or safety.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on equipment including motors, pumps, valves, measuring instruments, PLCs, centrifuges, heat exchangers, steam-tube dryers, boilers, conveyors, augers, hammer mills, and process tanks and vessels.
• Weld metal components using brazing and various arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts, plant equipment, structures, motors, and generators.
• Perform thermal cutting and grinding, repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and increase the size of metal parts.
• Position and clamp together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Complete assigned projects including mechanical and electrical equipment upgrades.
• Prioritize work through communication with Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Supervisor, and process team.
• Manage work and communicate results using a CMMS system.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certificate of completion of an accredited welding program.
• Technical training or previous maintenance-related job experience is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Able to work a flexible schedule with varying days and hours, including call-ins.
• Able to work outdoors in all seasons and at heights.
• Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration.
• Moderate to moderately loud noise levels in the work environment.
• Correctable vision required to complete work safely.

Pay

Starting wage for this position is $34/hour, with potential adjustments based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
