About the role

Fortress Nutrition is growing—and we’re looking for a skilled, driven and reliable Maintenance Technician to support our high-speed Beverage Canning operations on our Weekend Shift. If you enjoy hands-on troubleshooting, working with machinery/equipment, and being the person who keeps production running, this is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced manufacturing team.

This role is critical to minimizing downtime, maintaining equipment reliability, and supporting production in real time. The schedule for this role is a Weekend Shift, Friday – Sunday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with a 3-day work week (36 hours worked, paid for 40 hours minimum).

A training schedule is required, Monday – Friday, between the hours of 6:00 AM – 5:30 PM, with a minimum of 3-4 hours per shift to receive hands-on training on equipment, systems, and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production equipment using mechanical and electrical knowledge
  • Respond quickly to production line calls and resolve issues to minimize downtime
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and facility systems
  • Support product setups, changeovers, and general production operations
  • Monitor equipment for unusual sounds, movements, or performance issues
  • Conduct root cause analysis and coordinate with vendors as needed
  • Disassemble and repair equipment, replacing defective parts as required
  • Perform minor facility repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and regulatory standards (OSHA, FDA, EPA, etc.)
  • Provide support and guidance to production teams when needed
  • Follow all safety and quality procedures at all times
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in industrial manufacturing on high-speed equipment (food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or similar preferred)
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Must be reliable, flexible, and able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and be on-call as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field
  • Experience with high-speed packaging equipment and PLC systems
  • Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and food safety & quality standards
  • Experience in food, beverage, bottling, canning, high-speed packaging, or other regulated manufacturing environments

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours per shift)
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle and operate tools and equipment
  • Bending, kneeling, climbing (on ladders/mezzanines up to 20 feet high), and reaching as needed
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50lbs on a frequent basis

Pay and Benefits

Starting Pay: $33.00-$36.00+ per hour (with higher starting rates offered based on experience and qualifications)
