MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - ROVING & SITE-BASED POSITION

About the role

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining apartment communities by providing a quality living environment for our residents at all times. This unique hybrid role combines roving responsibilities with site-based work. This position will spend two days per week rotating between properties based on portfolio needs and three days per week at The Artemis property located in Arlington, MA. This individual travels primarily between Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.

Responsibilities

• Show care and concern for our residents through excellence in service ticket resolution and preventative maintenance
• Resolve maintenance issues in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair
• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility equipment
• Prepare vacant apartments for move-in through turn-over repairs and improvements
• Preserve the safety of the community through general upkeep and cleanliness, snow removal and ground maintenance
• Provide residents with outstanding customer service at all properties
• Recognize potential problems and take appropriate action
• Travel to different sites in the NE portfolio (2 days per week roving)
• Maintain consistent presence at The Artemis (3 days per week)
• Work weekends or evenings and be on call for after-hour emergencies
• Operate within OSHA standards and company safety policies

Requirements

• Experience in maintenance preferred and/or 1-2 years of experience preferred
• Beginner to intermediate proficiency preferred but not required in HVAC, plumbing, electrical and appliance repair
• Able to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple locations
• Availability for emergency situations at multiple properties, including an on-call rotation
• Personal, reliable transportation to travel between properties and respond to on-call emergencies
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• Basic computer skills and comfort using various software, apps and computer programs
• Comfortable working at different properties with varying needs and layouts
• Consistent weekend availability and flexibility for emergency situations

Skills

Competitive compensation. Hourly Pay Range: $27.00-30.00 plus mileage reimbursement for roving responsibilities. Compensation levels are determined in accordance with the employee’s qualifications and experience. Factors considered include, but are not limited to, length and relevance of prior work experience, educational attainment, professional licensure or certifications, specialized skills, and demonstrated competencies directly related to the position.
