Maintenance Technician Rotating Night Shift
About the role
Join Amgens Mission of Serving Patients. In this role, you will support maintenance and repair activities for production equipment at the Amgen Rhode Island (ARI) manufacturing site. You will work as part of a maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability and support manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on equipment and systems used in Manufacturing, the Process Development Laboratory, the Quality Analytical Laboratory, or other ARI site areas.
- Support preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance tasks following established procedures and safety standards.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with site procedures and compliance requirements.
- Accurately complete work order documentation in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Communicate maintenance activities, equipment status, and issues with operators and team members.
- Contribute to maintaining a productive and efficient work environment.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in training and development to expand technical skills and improve team performance.
- Provide support as required, which may include nights, weekends, holidays, or overtime.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED and 1 year of utility operations or maintenance work or military experience OR Associate degree
- 3+ years of combined education, training, or experience in mechanical maintenance with exposure to sanitary processing equipment and systems.
- Basic knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience working in a regulated environment such as cGMP manufacturing.
- Familiarity with executing and documenting maintenance work orders in a CMMS (e.g., Maximo).
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and equipment documentation.
- Ability to perform maintenance tasks with guidance from senior technicians or supervisors.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications: High school diploma/GED and 1 year of utility operations or maintenance work or military experience OR Associate degree
- Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of combined education, training, or experience in mechanical maintenance with exposure to sanitary processing equipment and systems. Pay
The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
Schedule
This includes extra benefits such as receiving an added 15% shift differential, and also getting premium pay for any Sundays worked. The schedule during the initial on-boarding phase for this role (2-6 weeks) will be administrative (Monday through Friday, approximately 8am to 5pm).
