Full-time Maintenance Technician position managing a territory covering Phoenix, AZ, and surrounding areas.
About the Role
The Maintenance Technician performs general repairs, preventative maintenance, and minor construction tasks across multiple commercial facilities. This role requires a self-motivated individual capable of troubleshooting building issues, completing repairs safely and efficiently, and providing exceptional customer service while maintaining Vixxo quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on commercial facilities.
- Complete general building repairs including doors, ceilings, walls, flooring, cabinetry, and fixtures.
- Perform basic plumbing repairs such as replacing faucets, valves, toilets, sinks, and repairing minor leaks.
- Perform basic electrical work including replacing switches, outlets, light fixtures, ballasts, drivers, and lamps.
- Complete minor carpentry projects and finish work.
- Repair and install shelving, hardware, locks, signage, and accessories.
- Troubleshoot and repair facility issues while identifying root causes.
- Conduct routine facility inspections and document deficiencies.
- Maintain accurate service reports, photographs, and work documentation using company software.
- Communicate professionally with customers and store management.
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations and local building codes.
- Maintain company vehicle, inventory, tools, and equipment.
- Respond to emergency service calls as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve facility reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 3+ years of commercial handyman, maintenance, or facilities experience.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot multiple building systems.
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and work order management systems.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 75 pounds.
- Frequently climb ladders up to 12 feet.
- Stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work overhead for extended periods.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Daily travel within assigned territory; occasional overnight travel as required.
Preferred Certifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- EPA Section 608 (Preferred)
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Trade certifications are a plus
Pay
Compensation ranges from $28 to $32 per hour, depending on experience.
