Maintenance Technician (Piedmont Raleigh Apartments)
About the role
The Maintenance Technician position is available at The Piedmont Raleigh, a property managed by Van Metre. This role requires a candidate with 1-2 years of maintenance experience or a valid training certification, along with strong skills in appliance, electrical, and plumbing repair.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Service Manager with directing and overseeing all aspects of maintenance
- Schedule and perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and janitorial services
- Perform general repair of property grounds, apartments, and building exteriors
- Aid in the maintenance of storage areas and maintenance materials
- Handle turnover work for vacant units
- Walk the property daily to uphold curb appeal and monitor safety issues
- Notify Service Manager and Property Manager of safety or liability concerns
- Manage inventory and storage areas, purchasing maintenance materials
- Perform work area clean-up and safety-related duties
- Ensure excellent customer service
- Participate in after-hours emergency requests and ensure property staff coverage
Requirements
- Maintain a professional and courteous manner with residents, visitors, contractors, and fellow employees
- Have the necessary skills to complete tasks outlined above
- Follow oral and written instructions
- Maintain effective and cooperative working relationships
Qualifications
- Education: 1-2 years of maintenance experience or valid training certification
- Skills: Universal CFC Certification preferred, strong understanding of appliance, electrical, and plumbing repair, basic knowledge of HVAC and electrical circuitry, current on OSHA, building, and safety standards, own basic tools, and knowledge of safe tool usage
- Experience: Valid drivers' license
