Requirements
- Prior to employment, the following must be addressed:
- Complete a criminal history background check.
- Provide evidence of adequate health.
- Pass the state-required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test.
- Have a Motor Vehicle Operator's License or be able to provide own transportation.
- Understand the need to maintain confidentiality.
- Meet such alternatives as the school director finds appropriate and acceptable.
- Have a high school diploma or GED, or a trade/vocational school diploma, or two years' experience in one or more of the building trades, or a combination of training and experience that equates to three years.
- Have working knowledge of two or more trades and mechanical aptitude.
- Be able to operate tools of the trade.
- Be available to work beyond the normal work day/work week.
- Pass a required physical examination.
- Pass a required criminal history background check, drug screening, and obtain eligibility to work in the United States.
- Be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Be able to climb ladders up to 20 feet.
- Have sufficient physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of the job, including heavy work with exposure to inclement weather for prolonged periods of time.
- Be able to wear and use appropriate protective equipment, as necessary.
- Read, write, communicate effectively, and understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Qualifications

Essential Performance Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance duties in carpentry, driving, electrical, landscaping, HVAC, locksmith, masonry, plumbing, inventory control, and operating snow plow and salter.
- Ensure maintenance requests and work orders are completed satisfactorily.
- Refer work requiring more specialized attention or skilled craftsmanship to appropriate trade leads and follow up through completion.
- Maintain and service parking lots, repair holes.
- Maintain tools and equipment required for maintenance tasks.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Make emergency repairs within knowledge and responsibility.
- Inspect machinery to ensure proper functionality, including checking pressures and temperatures, as required.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections.
- Attend professional development events as required by district administration.
- Perform any other duties within the scope of his/her employment and certification that may be assigned.
