Maintenance Technician (Oahu)

About the role

Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team in Downtown Oahu. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, a strong eye for detail, and previous experience in maintenance or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs: plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC, painting, drywall, and grounds maintenance
• Interact with property managers, vendors, and customers with excellent customer service skills
• Ensure mechanical equipment and systems are working properly and make necessary repairs
• Create and maintain work orders and purchase orders
• Perform any additional maintenance-related duties as directed by HBM supervisors or property management

Requirements

• Possess a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
• Pass a background check
• High school diploma or equivalent
• General preventative maintenance experience (basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, painting, and drywall)
• Troubleshooting abilities and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
• Good public relations and communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Willingness to learn and grow

Qualifications

• Must pass HBM check
• Basic manual labor, cleaning common areas, lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying a minimum of 50lbs (up to 75lbs), reaching overhead, grasping objects, bending, kneeling, crawling, squatting, climbing, stretching, walking, walking up and down stairs, climbing up/down ladders, and standing throughout their shift

Schedule

40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. After the probation period, the schedule may be subject to change.

Pay

$21.00 to $25.00 per hour.
