Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on production machinery and facility systems. This role is essential to minimizing downtime and ensuring all equipment runs efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and facility systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automation issues
- Utilize PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) to identify and correct faults
- Maintain and repair automated equipment such as conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and sensors
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve equipment reliability
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance or a similar role
- Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting and programming
- Familiarity with automated systems and machine diagnostics
- Skilled in using hand and power tools
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in team settings
- Flexibility to work various shifts or on-call hours as needed
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and best practices
- Basic welding and fabrication experience
- Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, or other facility systems
