About the role
Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician, Nights at our Kings Mountain, NC facility. The range for this position is $23.41 - $36.38 per hour with scheduled pay increases at 6 months and 1 year of service. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 11:00 pm until 7:00 am.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant equipment to support safe, reliable operations and the achievement of plant business goals and objectives.
- Perform a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and controls related maintenance activities to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery used in the manufacture of heavy and medium duty truck transmissions.
- Diagnose equipment issues; repair or replace components; test, adjust, and verify proper operation using a strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Utilize machine level and OEM software for troubleshooting and repair, including Fanuc robots and controls, NC/CNC equipment, PLCs, and drive systems.
- Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on machines and equipment to support equipment reliability and uptime.
- Read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, mechanical blueprints, equipment manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance tasks.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork to achieve departmental and plant objectives.
- Maintain assigned work areas in accordance with 6S standards and actively participate in department and team housekeeping efforts.
- Identify and report abnormal conditions, safety concerns, and defective materials to the coach or appropriate leadership.
- Participate in training and continuously update technical skills to adapt to new machinery, equipment, and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- 2 years of manufacturing-focused maintenance experience or closely related experience, supported by training in mechanics, electrical systems, industrial maintenance, and/or automation
- Hands-on experience performing both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical blueprints to support equipment repair or rebuild activities
- Working experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for asset management and maintenance tracking
- Associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related field with a minimum of three (3) years of electrical and/or automation experience; or a certificate in Industrial Maintenance or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of electrical and/or automation experience
- Familiarity with a variety of machine control systems, including Siemens and Fanuc NC systems and Allen Bradley PLCs
- One (1) or more years of experience using AutoCAD
