Maintenance Technician Night Shift (D Crew)

Schedule

6:45 PM to 7 AM on a rotating 2/2/3 schedule.

Pay

$23.00–$31.00 per hour, depending on level of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Independently diagnose and repair equipment issues with a focus on minimizing downtime.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures on complex industrial equipment.
  • Utilize VFDs, motor control systems, HMIs, and PLC logic (Allen-Bradley preferred) for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Maintain and improve production line performance through rapid response to equipment failures.
  • Reduce mean time to repair (MTTR) and prevent repeat failures through strong root-cause analysis.
  • Work autonomously to plan, prioritize, and complete work orders per shift; maintain an 85%+ on-time completion rate.
  • Own scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) tasks, ensuring completion and accuracy.
  • Identify risks before breakdowns occur and recommend improvements to prevent recurring issues.
  • Lead by example on 6S expectations and uptime improvement initiatives; contribute to TPM activities and equipment health checks.
  • Support improvement projects that increase throughput, speed, or reliability.
  • Commission equipment after maintenance, ensuring smooth and accurate startup with minimal adjustments required.
  • Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, and fellow maintenance techs; share knowledge and elevate best practices across shifts.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (required).
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction.
  • Strong history of troubleshooting industrial equipment in fast-paced environments.
  • Proficiency with electrical & electronic systems, motor controllers, VFDs, relays, and sensors.
  • Experience with mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Experience navigating PLC ladder logic for troubleshooting (programming not required).
  • Welding experience (stick or wire) is a plus.
  • Strong root-cause analysis skills and solid mathematical aptitude applied to maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Self-directed, motivated, and reliable; comfortable in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and safety.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs+ and maneuver large, heavy equipment.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and work in varying temperature environments.
  • Ability to wear PPE at all times; must pass a Physical Abilities Test.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; technical training, two-year maintenance certification, or trade school background is preferred.
  • Forklift experience required (must complete Return Polymers forklift certification).
  • Welding certifications are a plus.
