Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots machinery and equipment and diagnoses problems.
- Repairs defective machines and equipment by dismantling and installing new or repaired parts.
- Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Assists in performing preventative maintenance and ensures that preventative maintenance schedules are met.
- Assists in training production employees on proper maintenance procedures, including lockout-tagout.
- Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of facilities.
- Initiates purchase requests for parts and machines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- 5-7 years of hands-on electronic and mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Collegiate-level Industrial Maintenance background/certifications preferred.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
