Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine repairs including plumbing (leaky faucets, toilet clogs), electrical (bulb replacement, outlet repair), HVAC troubleshooting, and basic carpentry.
- Efficiently prep vacant apartments for new residents, including painting, flooring repairs, and deep cleaning.
- Carry out regular inspections of common areas and mechanical rooms to identify potential issues.
- Maintain the property to comply with local housing authority and HUD standards, and adhere to fire codes and safety regulations.
- Be available for after-hours emergencies.
- Interact with senior residents with patience and respect, often entering their homes to perform repairs while ensuring their comfort and privacy.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- At least 3 years of maintenance experience.
- HVAC certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
- A valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
Compassionate, detail-oriented, and dependable individual with strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Must be able to perform general and advanced maintenance work, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks. Problem-solving, time management, leadership, teamwork, and budgeting skills are necessary. Familiarity with computers and electronics is desired.
