Maintenance Technician - McCalla, AL

About the Role

Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe systems, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform area-specific safety checks and repairs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance according to schedule.
• Execute emergency repairs on "down equipment."
• Maintain daily upkeep of machinery.
• Assist in setting up new equipment or relocating existing equipment.
• Improve uptime and reduce downtime.

Requirements

• 2-year certificate from college or technical school; or 2–3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Willingness to obtain a forklift license, overhead crane license, and elevated lift license.

Skills

• Knowledge of PLC design software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
• Experience with PLC and ladder logic controls troubleshooting.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
• Electrical background with troubleshooting relay logic for voltages ranging from 5V to 480V.
