About the role
We are looking for an energetic, mechanically inclined Maintenance Technician to grow their career in a skilled trade maintenance position. This role involves preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilities, along with other assigned maintenance tasks.
Schedule
Day shift: 7 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, plus 7 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Saturday (up to 55 hours per week). Occasional Sunday work may be required.
Responsibilities
- Operate company man lifts, forklifts, and cranes as required.
- Perform preventative maintenance on machines, including cleaning and changing coolant.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and building structures.
- Complete minor and major repairs to building structure, equipment, and machines.
- Perform minor plumbing, electrical, and cosmetic repairs (e.g., painting, plastering).
- Support quality, environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and training.
- Travel to other Hi-Tech facilities as directed by the General Manager.
- Train other maintenance technicians as required.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements
- Available to work overtime, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays as assigned.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull continuously.
- Work in environments with varying noise levels.
- Work with solvents, chemicals, irritants, and potential allergens.
- Operate in a self-directed, fast-paced environment.
- Work in close proximity to others as required.
- Meet physical requirements for forklift and crane operation (e.g., vision, distance judgment).
- Work on ladders and lifts in high, precarious places.
- Operate forklifts (Hilo’s) and cranes.
Requirements
- 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of CNC machines and repair experience is a plus.
Skills
- Basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical knowledge.
- Basic painting and cosmetic repair skills.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematics.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with hand tools.
- Organized, responsible, and capable of multitasking.
- Ability to interface with various personalities at all organizational levels.
- Experience performing major and minor repairs on CNC machines and associated equipment.
- Ability to read hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical drawings.
- Troubleshooting skills using meters and test equipment.
- Understanding of servo motors and drives.
- Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and computer use.
- Possession of necessary tools and equipment for troubleshooting and repairs.
