About the role
The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Maintenance Technician for their Levy Evertz Technology operation in Calvert, Alabama. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for all "preventive" maintenance and "preventive" inspections, greasing, lubrication, and emergency repairs of all plant electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components. They also maintain all facilities, buildings, and mobile equipment.
Responsibilities
- Carry out routine inspections of all equipment and lubricants and repairs as necessary.
- Repair problems in equipment operation and notify maintenance manager as necessary.
- Set work priorities in conjunction with Maintenance and Operations Manager to maximize operations.
- Perform maintenance activities under the direction of the Maintenance Department.
- Keep accurate records of repairs carried out or required maintenance issues. Advise maintenance of parts consumed or repaired. Order any and all parts consumed and needed by requisition form.
- Re-build/repair any and all equipment.
- Carry out repairs of equipment removed from key components such as; torches, grinding wheels, hydraulic pumps, cylinders.
- Carry out good housekeeping so that, work areas, all equipment, all hydraulic/electrical systems, and plant facility are clean.
- Participate in environmental cleanup and awareness.
Requirements
- Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical components on heavy equipment.
- Strong electrical knowledge and ability.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical/hydraulic schematics.
- Knowledge of automation systems.
- Knowledge of DC operated cranes essential.
- Completely conversant in safety procedures for working with electrical/mechanical and hydraulic equipment including high voltage.
- Conversant with all forms of hydraulics.
- A minimum of 5 years experience working in a heavy industrial environment.
Skills
- Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical components on heavy equipment.

- Knowledge of automation systems.
