Maintenance Technician II - Houston Milk Plant

About the Role

As a Maintenance Partner, you'll function in a team environment, reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader with direct responsibilities to the Production Team Leader and Team. You'll provide technical support to ensure a safe environment, producing safe, high-quality products in a timely manner, at the best cost possible.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains manufacturing processes and equipment in optimum condition; integrates several process techniques focused on achieving high levels of overall process effectiveness (TPO)
  • Applies fundamental understanding of team in development and active participation in a team environment through Division and Plant team orientation, safety and quality training, and Level I Team skills
  • Operates various equipment including electrical, electronics, hydraulic, mechanical, and welding tools
  • Repairs and replaces building systems, electrical components, electronics, hydraulic systems, mechanical parts, pneumatic systems, and refrigeration/HVAC systems
  • Inspects electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and refrigeration/HVAC systems for compliance and safety
  • Performs preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on various systems
  • Reads and draws blueprints for repairs, modifications, and process changes

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED - Required

Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of plant equipment maintenance operation (e.g., equipment troubleshooting, electrical, refrigeration, machine shop operation, welding, brazing soldering)
  • Strong aptitude and abilities in industrial plant, mechanical, or electrical work
  • Specific skills in building systems, electrical, electronics, equipment operation, hydraulic, mechanics, pneumatic, refrigeration/HVAC, and welding

Work Experience

  • Experience in maintenance - Required
  • Experience in electrical / mechanical / equipment repair (for building & process) - Required
  • Experience completely disassembling process equipment and repairing, improving, and reassembling for re-use - Required

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

  • Travel by car or plane with overnight stays
  • Regularly lift up to 20 lbs; occasionally lift 20 lbs or more
  • Work extended hours and rotating schedules
  • Maneuver through the facility and perform functions of the job (standing, stooping, bending, etc.)
  • Work in wet, cold, or hot environments with varying temperatures depending on Plant location
