About the Role

This position involves maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical systems within a 24/7 industrial environment, primarily in secured baggage handling areas, repair stations, or on airfields.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical systems
  • Communicate work performed and system status to relevant parties
  • Interpret engineering drawings related to system layout, location, and operation
  • Schedule maintenance tasks to ensure job completion and report through CMMS
  • Respond to messages from the Control Room or manager
  • Perform preventive maintenance: inspection, adjustment, cleaning, and replacement
  • Operate tote systems
  • Attend to call outs, faults, alarms, warnings, stoppages, and bag jams
  • Supervise staff, schedule tasks, and provide training

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum technical experience in an industrial environment
  • Flexible work schedule for 24/7 operations
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to attain and sustain an Airport I.D. Badge

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Degree in Industrial Technology or Electrical Automation
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Basic knowledge of controls (PLC, PC) systems

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The role is physically active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds and handle equipment such as conveyor systems for extended periods.

Work is performed in secured baggage handling areas, repair stations, or on airfields, often under strict deadlines to maintain flight schedules. The environment can be loud, with exposure to mechanical parts, vibration, and the baggage handling system.
