Maintenance Technician II

About the role

Reports to an assigned Maintenance Manager; FLSA status is Non-Exempt.

Responsibilities

• Operate tools and machines essential to the job, including electrical meters, hand tools, power tools, electrical components, torches, grinders, welders, forklifts, aerial lifts, overhead cranes, and computer equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair, tear down and replace compressors, pumps, welders, punches, presses, shears, cranes, hoists, conveyors, HVAC systems, electrical systems, small hand tools, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, and paint equipment.
• Troubleshoot line repairs and breakdowns.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Perform machine and fixture set-ups.
• Operate overhead cranes and other lifting devices.
• Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, accurate and highly productive manner according to company policy.
• Contribute to the team effort to produce a quality product through root cause fixes.
• Provide own tools and perform maintenance tasks.
• Ability to work mandatory overtime.

Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent, based on education and work experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Experience with equipment teardowns and rebuilds (mechanical and hydraulic press brakes).
• Experience installing/troubleshooting frequency drives.
• Advanced welding fabrication.
• Electrical/control troubleshooting.
• Basic knowledge of tool and die equipment (e.g., drill press, mill, grinding).
• Skilled predictive maintenance.
• Repair/rebuild paint pumps, electrostatic guns and blasting equipment.
• Perform new equipment set-up and diagnostics.
• Ability to work at a fast pace, understand urgency, be open to new and different things, and express opinions regarding work methods and blueprints.
• Willingness to take responsibility for mistakes.
• Ability to read multimeters and computer equipment.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, operator manuals, maintenance manuals, dimensional and weld prints.
• Ability to document work logs, update manuals, create PM scheduling programs, record keeping, component changes.
• Ability to communicate information orally and/or in writing to other personnel in a clear, concise manner.
• Basic math skills, especially fractions.
