Maintenance Technician II

About the role

The Maintenance Technician II performs maintenance service or repairs in one or more skill areas, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and plastering, machine servicing, electrical repairs or installations, or vehicle servicing. This role applies basic skills and may develop advanced skills using tools and equipment appropriate for the position, and effectively communicates policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance service or repairs in one or more skill areas, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and plastering, machine servicing, electrical repairs or installations, or vehicle servicing.
• Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, and air conditioners.
• Repairs and maintains plumbing systems including toilets, urinals, sinks, and drains.
• Disassembles machines to repair or replace broken parts.
• Cleans eating areas, bathrooms, kitchens, and classrooms using janitorial supplies and chemicals.
• Sets up school events, including tables, chairs, stages, and floor covers.
• Performs preventative and predictive maintenance, including lubrication and filter changes.
• Requests new parts and equipment as needed.
• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience working as a Maintenance Technician.
• 4 years of work experience as a Maintenance Technician.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, powered landscape equipment, ladders, and scaffolding.

Physical Demands

• Stand for extended periods; bend and reach for job-related functions.
• Climb up and down stairs/ladders.
• Bend, stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials; pull, push, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Reach both above and below shoulder height.
• Specific visual abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus for visual inspection of work.
• Manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment.

Pay

$28 - $30 an hour
