About the role

The Maintenance Technician II performs labor intensive tasks. Performs routine general and preventative maintenance to City of Conroe parks grounds, equipment, facilities and infrastructure on a daily basis.

The Maintenance Technician II performs labor intensive tasks. Performs routine general and preventative maintenance to City of Conroe parks grounds, equipment, facilities and infrastructure on a daily basis.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent with three to five years minimum experience.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License or higher, or ability to obtain within six months.
• Must possess First Aid and CPR certifications or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Physical demands: ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects; plus balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.

Skills

• Knowledge of principles and practices of parks and recreation facilities maintenance and repair or related services.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of safe work habits.
• Knowledge of horticulture principles.
• Skill in operating a variety of tools, equipment, vehicles and trailers.
• Skill in analyzing problems and developing effective solutions.
• Ability to work independently or cohesively as part of a team.
• Ability to understand and follow the City of Conroe and departmental policies and procedures.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to provide high-quality customer service to internal and external customers.

Pay

Starting salary for this position is $20.17 hourly.
