About the role

The Maintenance Technician II performs work related to the daily operation and maintenance of the facility. This position supports coworkers in all departments to ensure equipment, facilities, and grounds are safe, well-maintained, and attractive in accordance with federal, state, and local standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily inspections and document operating parameters of major HVAC systems.
  • Maintain plumbing systems, monitor water quality, document water temperatures, and service boilers at campuses that utilize them.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of electrical distribution systems, perform service work within capabilities, and contact outside vendors for repairs as needed.
  • Perform general building maintenance and construction work on all surfaces, interior or exterior of the facility, and inspect patient/resident areas as requested.
  • Handle grounds maintenance, including lawn care and snow removal.
  • Perform general repairs to facility and resident equipment or arrange for outside repairs when required.
  • Operate hand and power tools, as well as various grounds and maintenance equipment safely.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in the Building Maintenance field; or High School Diploma/GED and two (2) or more years of building maintenance experience.
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain a minimum of a Special Boiler’s License for campuses utilizing boilers.
  • Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record that meets Benedictine requirements.

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Certification/License as required by Federal, State, and local regulations.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting.

Pay

$23.60–$26.06 per hour.
