About the role

The Hotel Maintenance Technician II ensures the overall success of the hotel by meeting or exceeding guest expectations for the working order of mechanical systems. This role maintains a safe working environment by providing an attractive, clean, and well-maintained property.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records on preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Perform general maintenance, preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs as assigned.
• Adhere to safety, security, and emergency procedures; react appropriately during emergency situations and act promptly to correct hazards.
• Follow security procedures for handling guest room and master keys, securing boiler and electrical rooms, proper storage of chemicals, etc.
• Listen to and promptly act to resolve guest problems and complaints.
• Follow guidelines to protect company assets, associates, and guests.
• Troubleshoot equipment and identify needs and parts.
• Perform basic painting, caulking, building repair, electrical, and plumbing tasks.
• Operate hand and power tools (drills, hoisting equipment, reciprocating saw, pressure washing equipment).
• Read manufacturer instructions and discern various colors of electrical wiring.
• Make effective judgments on repairs and maintenance; solve guest and operational problems.
• Keep the Chief Engineer informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
• Work in varying indoor/outdoor weather conditions, kneel, walk, and climb stairs and ladders.

Requirements

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Basic understanding of HVAC and Refrigeration.
• Prior hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical skills for operation and repair of hotel equipment.
• Working knowledge of chemical applications, storage, and OSHA standards.
