Full-time position located in Charlotte, NC at Atrium Health Pineville.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 3rd shift, 22:30–07:00.
Pay
Pay range: $26.55 – $39.85 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Performs facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Documents work through the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Proficiently maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, heat exchangers, and controls with moderate guidance.
- Proficiently maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs patient-care equipment (beds, wheelchairs, carts, tables) not serviced by other departments.
- Proficiently maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs mechanical/electrical systems including pneumatic tube, HVAC, refrigerators/freezers, ice machines, commercial kitchen equipment, electrical, plumbing, piped medical gas, and specialized water systems with moderate guidance.
- Performs routine to moderately complex general maintenance: grounds, carpentry, painting, and snow removal.
- Responds to and repairs emergencies such as leaks, floods, water outages, fires, power outages, and equipment failures as directed or within defined emergency response plans.
- Responds to building occupant requests in a timely, professional manner; performs zone maintenance rounding and keeps requesters updated on corrective actions.
- Conducts preventive maintenance and equipment safety checks.
- Inspects and repairs fire doors, hardware, firewalls, and smoke partitions.
- Reads blueprints and maintenance manuals to complete assignments.
- Maintains life-safety systems and required documentation.
- Performs all tasks with priority on safety of patients, staff, and self.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2–4 years of experience in equipment maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license.
Skills
- Basic computer skills (CMMS, building automation system, Microsoft Office).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, lifting, squatting, bending, crawling, reaching above shoulders, and twisting throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. from floor to overhead, lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest-level, and carry up to 50 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
- Ability to push/pull with 50 lbs. of force.
- Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards; knowledge of safety precautions required.
- Position requires travel; may be exposed to road/weather hazards.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
