Maintenance Technician I

Location: Sandy, OR (Sandyplace Apartment Homes)

About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician I, you'll play an important role in keeping the community clean, safe, and well-maintained. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in their craftsmanship, and wants to gain experience across multiple areas of property maintenance while making a positive impact on residents every day.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, and appliance repairs
• Help maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the entire property
• Complete routine work orders and preventative maintenance tasks
• Maintain common areas, including the leasing office, clubhouse, fitness center, laundry rooms, restrooms, and model apartments
• Perform landscaping duties including mowing, trimming, edging, fertilizing, and pruning
• Conduct daily property walks and remove trash and debris
• Assist with snow and ice removal to maintain a safe community
• Help maintain pool areas, including basic pool upkeep and water testing
• Pressure wash, paint curbs, and assist with general property upkeep projects
• Support property inspections and safety initiatives
• Accurately document completed work and maintenance activities
• May occasionally assist in cleaning company Airbnb properties

Requirements

• One year of maintenance, porter, janitorial, landscaping, construction, or related experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs
• Strong work ethic with a commitment to safety and quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance

Physical Requirements

• Requires lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
• Climbing ladders up to six feet
• Using hand and power tools
• Operating landscaping equipment
• Working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Pay

$20–$26 per hour

Schedule

Full-Time (32 hours) | Friday - Monday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

On-call availability may be required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
