About the role
Ensures the safety, functionality, and comfort of healthcare and residential facilities by supporting operational continuity and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for patients, residents, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Respond to unanticipated facility needs to minimize risk and service disruption
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of buildings, systems, and equipment
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and applicable codes
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance across multiple disciplines
- Receive on-the-job training in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, power plant systems, general maintenance, groundskeeping, and patient care equipment
- Maintain inventory and documentation of parts and repairs
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergencies
- Attend training sessions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record
- Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Effective communication with coworkers, residents, families, and contractors
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform maintenance tasks
Work Environment
Exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, electrical systems, bloodborne pathogens, and interaction with residents, staff, and potentially combative individuals.
