Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for the care, maintenance and repair of machinery, facilities and grounds.

Essential Functions

  • Comply with all company policies, cGMP, OSHA, Federal, State and Local regulations and procedures
  • Assemble complex production equipment according to blueprints, diagrams, and written instructions.
  • Install and connect various components such as motors, gears, conveyor belts, sensors, and control systems.
  • Test assembled equipment to ensure proper operation and make any necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate records of all assembly work, including any deviations from plans or instructions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
  • Maintain the overall appearance and functionality of the facility by completing a wide range of repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Painting
  • Drywall repair
  • Fixing leaks
  • Replacing light bulbs
  • Repairing or replacing equipment as needed

Education & Experience

  • Requires a High School education, or G.E.D.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintenance tech or related field

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA)

  • Must have a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and be able to troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
  • Must be able to identify and resolve issues with equipment, often under tight deadlines and with limited resources.
  • Must be meticulous in their work and be able to follow instructions and procedures carefully.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and manage their time effectively to ensure that work is completed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy objects, and work in awkward positions.
  • Must be aware of and follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Must be able to adapt to changing needs and priorities and be willing to learn new skills as needed.

Work Environment

  • The working conditions for this position are performed in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, heavy machinery, powered industrial equipment, airborne dust particles, and moderate noise levels.
  • The position requires performing maintenance activities both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Employees may be required to work in enclosed spaces and must be medically qualified to wear a half-mask respirator or powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) for up to four hours at a time in accordance with the Company's Respiratory Protection Program. Required personal protective equipment (PPE) and gowning must be followed when applicable, and all safety, sanitation, and environmental procedures must be followed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
  • The Maintenance Technician must be able to stand, walk, sit, and remain in a stationary position for extended periods throughout an 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shift while moving independently throughout the facility to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment and building systems.
  • The position requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, and repetitive reaching above shoulder level and in multiple directions.
  • The employee must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and move tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 55 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • The position also requires sufficient vision to read gauges, equipment labels, technical manuals, work orders, and small print, as well as the ability to hear alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and vendors.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm (shifts may vary based on needs of the company)

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a background check & drug screen.
  • Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods and will be compensated and calculated in accordance with federal regulations.
