About the role
This Maintenance Planner role reports to a Maintenance/Engineering Manager and is based in Dallas, TX. McCormick & Company is a global leader in flavor, manufacturing, marketing, and distributing spices, seasoning mixes, condiments, and other flavorful products to retail outlets, food manufacturers, and foodservice businesses.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on a variety of production equipment.
- Methodically analyze and correct problems across a wide range of equipment and support systems.
- Work closely with co-workers inside and outside the Maintenance Department.
- Operate forklifts and work at heights up to 45 feet on material handling equipment.
- Lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver around equipment, climb stairs, and access ladders.
- Work overtime daily and weekends, sometimes with minimal notice; maintain flexibility with shift hours.
- Use CMMS and Microsoft Office; apply planned maintenance practices.
- Demonstrate process improvement ability and leadership; work individually and as part of a team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or 3–5 years of related experience.
- Minimum of one year supervising employees in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
- Minimum of one year leading others through projects or initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work across functions and interact with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities to assess risk.
- Understanding of the financial impact of business decisions affecting staffing, product components, and inventory.
- Ability to lead large teams to support business initiatives.
- Dynamic self-starter who works independently, applies sound judgment, and proactively initiates action steps.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
- Collaborative approach to resolving issues.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in all maintenance crafts including basic electrical, mechanics, welding, and machine shop.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of CMMS and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of planned maintenance practices.
- Demonstrated process improvement ability and leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food processing.
- Experience in plumbing, millwright, and carpentry.
- Welding experience including basic welding certification.
- PLC and industrial electrical experience.
- Robotic and conventional palletizer experience.
- Dense phase pneumatic conveying experience.
- Hands-on experience with new equipment installation.
- Experience with boilers, chillers, and air compressors.
- Trade school, certificate, or apprenticeship in industrial maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and relay logic.
