Maintenance Technician I

About the Role

Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment products while following standard work methods and practicing safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Duties include preventative maintenance and repairs to equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all safe start meetings.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Follow 5S standards to maintain work area.
• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance based on PM schedule.
• Locate sources of problems by observing and listening to mechanical devices in operation.
• Complete pre-operation equipment inspections and report any issues identified.
• Trained to set up, adjust, and operate all basic machine tools.
• Prepare maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Assist with the installation of new production equipment and required infrastructure.
• Read and interpret work instructions, then execute work per instructions.
• Other duties as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Related degree from a technical college, a plus.
• 1 year of proven maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or internship while attending technical college preferred.

Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and use tape measure.
• General mechanical knowledge.
• General electrical knowledge.
• Ability to work occasional nights and weekends.
• Ability to use respirators (will have to be clean shaven on occasion).
• Ability to work at heights in aerial lift.
• Ability to work outdoors in climate (hot/cold).
• Ability to troubleshoot.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions and manuals.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment safely and efficiently.
• Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Average proficiency in mathematics.
• Good visual acuity.
